Window glass replacement in Seattle

Broken glass does not always mean a new window. When the frame and sash are sound, we can replace the pane and keep the window you already have.

Check the frame before replacing the window

Glass-only replacement starts with an inspection. We assess the sash, stops and frame, then identify the glass needed for the opening. Wood, vinyl and aluminum windows can often accept a replacement pane or insulated glass unit.

Glass to suit the opening

Cracked or broken panes

We replace damaged single-pane glass and insulated units. If the opening cannot be glazed immediately, ask about temporary board-up while replacement glass is prepared.

Cloudy double-pane windows

Moisture inside a sealed unit calls for an assessment of the glass and its seals. We replace failed insulated glass units with new sealed glass.

Safety and privacy glass

Tempered and obscure glass are available where appropriate. We confirm the opening's requirements and your privacy preferences before ordering.

Matching the existing glass

Size and thickness are only part of the specification. We also check Low-E coatings, tint and the surrounding windows so the replacement suits your home.

The opening and the glass are separate parts.

Window glass replacement questions.

A few practical details about assessing and replacing your glass.

Ask about your glass
Can I keep my existing window frames?

Often, yes. The frame and sash must be sound enough to accept and support replacement glass. We inspect them before confirming glass-only work.

Can you replace glass in picture windows?

Yes. We measure picture windows as well as operable windows and confirm the glass specification and installation access.

Do I need to be home?

Safe access and approval are required. Discuss arrangements with us in advance if you will be away during installation.

What happens if the opening needs securing first?

Ask about temporary board-up when you call. We can discuss securing the opening until replacement glass is available.
