Getting started & pricing
The details that help you decide what to do next.
01What do I need to get a quote?
Your name, a phone number or email, and a sentence about the problem. You do not need measurements or the name of a part. Mention your city in the description if you can.
02How much does glass or door repair cost?
There is no single price that fits every opening. Glass size and specification, damaged hardware or framing, access, and temporary protection affect the work. Ask for the scope and price before authorizing the repair.
03Is there a call-out or assessment fee?
Confirm any visit, assessment, and after-hours charges with Glassma before arranging attendance. Sending a quote request does not authorize a paid visit or repair. A written estimate should separate those charges from the permanent work.
04Does requesting a quote book an appointment?
No. A quote request starts a conversation. Access, scope, price, and an appointment must be agreed separately. The confirmation tells you whether email delivery was accepted or your request was saved only. Call for urgent help.
05How soon can the repair be completed?
Timing depends on the opening, available parts, and whether glass must be made to size. Call with your location if the property is exposed. Temporary protection and the final repair may happen on different visits.
06Is the repair covered by a warranty?
Ask which workmanship and product warranties apply to the proposed repair, and request the terms in writing. Coverage can differ between the glass, hardware, and installation; the estimate should identify the applicable terms.
Glass & windows
Repair, replacement, and clarity.
01Can you replace just the glass and keep the window frame?
Often, if the frame and sash are sound and the glazing system allows it. If the surrounding parts are damaged or unsuitable, they may also need attention. The assessment should establish whether glass-only replacement is practical.
02Why is my double-pane window cloudy between the panes?
Moisture trapped inside a sealed glass unit commonly points to a failed edge seal. Wiping either surface cannot remove it. Replacement of the sealed unit may be possible without changing a sound frame.
03Does condensation mean the glass has failed?
Not necessarily. Moisture on a room-side surface can result from humidity and temperature. Condensation inside the sealed gap is a different symptom. Tell us whether you can wipe the moisture away and which surface it is on.
04Can just one pane of a double-pane unit be replaced?
A sealed insulated glass unit is normally replaced as an assembly to restore its sealed gap. That does not automatically mean replacing the entire window frame. The unit specification and surrounding frame need checking.
05Do I need tempered or laminated safety glass?
The location and purpose of the glazing determine the appropriate specification. Doors, entrances, and other impact-risk locations may require safety glazing. Glassma needs to assess the opening before the replacement is ordered.
Doors & hardware
Movement, fit, and secure closing.
01Can my door be repaired instead of replaced?
A hardware or alignment fault may be repairable. Damage to the door or frame can call for a different approach. The first step is checking how the door hangs, moves, closes, and secures before choosing parts or a replacement.
02Why does the door close but fail to latch?
The latch may miss its strike because the door has dropped or the opening has moved. Worn hardware, tight weatherstripping, or a frame problem can also interfere. A replacement lock alone may not address the cause.
03Why is my door dragging or sticking?
Alignment, worn hinges, a changed floor clearance, or movement in the door and frame can cause rubbing. Tell us where it catches and whether the problem changes with the weather. That helps guide the assessment.
04Why does my door closer slam instead of closing smoothly?
Possible causes include incorrect adjustment, lost hydraulic fluid, or internal damage. The door and closer should be checked together. A leaking or damaged closer may require replacement rather than another adjustment.
05Can I replace a lock, hinge, or closer with any similar-looking part?
Appearance alone does not establish compatibility. Door weight, fixing positions, handing, function, and any rated assembly requirements matter. Identify the existing hardware and opening before buying replacements.
Urgent help & board-up
Protection now and the work that follows.
01What should I do if glass is broken or the door will not lock?
Keep people and pets away from the damaged opening and avoid handling loose glass. Call (206) 330-9103 with your location and explain whether the entrance can close and secure. If someone is in immediate danger, call emergency services.
02Can I call about damage outside normal business hours?
All three Glassma Google Maps listings show 24-hour opening. Call (206) 330-9103 to confirm current availability and an estimated arrival time for your location. Listed opening hours are not an arrival-time guarantee.
03When is board-up the right next step?
Board-up provides temporary protection when an opening is exposed and a permanent repair is not yet possible. It is especially relevant when replacement glass needs to be ordered. Ask for both the immediate protection and follow-up repair to be explained.
04Does a board-up price include the replacement glass?
Do not assume it does. Temporary protection and permanent replacement are different stages. Ask for a written breakdown showing attendance, board-up, disposal, replacement materials, and installation as applicable.
05How long will temporary protection stay in place?
That depends on the permanent repair and material availability. Confirm the follow-up plan when the opening is secured, and report any loosening or further damage. Temporary protection should not be treated as a finished window or door.
Planning a visit
Access and the information needed next.
01Which areas does Glassma serve?
Glassma serves Seattle and the Puget Sound region, including Bellevue, Lynnwood, and Tukwila. Give us your city or ZIP code so availability for the property and the type of work can be confirmed.
02Can a tenant or property manager request help?
Yes, you can describe the issue and ask about the next step. Tell us who owns or manages the property and who can approve the work. Access and authorization need to be agreed before a repair is arranged.
03Can work be planned around customers, staff, or tenants?
Share your business hours, delivery times, access restrictions, and site contact. These affect scheduling and the repair approach. Agree the attendance window and any temporary access arrangements before work starts.
04How should I prepare for an agreed repair visit?
Confirm access and the on-site contact, and explain any parking, tenant, or business restrictions. Keep people and pets away from damaged glass. Ask the team what needs moving; do not dismantle a damaged opening to prepare for a visit.
05Will the quote include broken-glass removal and cleanup?
Ask for removal, disposal, and cleanup to be included explicitly in the scope. Describe any glass inside rooms, on a public walkway, or in a business entrance so the area affected is understood before work is priced.
