A hardware or alignment fault may be repairable. Damage to the door or frame can call for a different approach. The first step is checking how the door hangs, moves, closes, and secures before choosing parts or a replacement.
02Can you replace just the glass and keep the window frame?
Often, if the frame and sash are sound and the glazing system allows it. If the surrounding parts are damaged or unsuitable, they may also need attention. The assessment should establish whether glass-only replacement is practical.
03When is board-up the right next step?
Board-up provides temporary protection when an opening is exposed and a permanent repair is not yet possible. It is especially relevant when replacement glass needs to be ordered. Ask for both the immediate protection and follow-up repair to be explained.
04How much does glass or door repair cost?
There is no single price that fits every opening. Glass size and specification, damaged hardware or framing, access, and temporary protection affect the work. Ask for the scope and price before authorizing the repair.
