Often, if the frame and sash are sound and the glazing system allows it. If the surrounding parts are damaged or unsuitable, they may also need attention. The assessment should establish whether glass-only replacement is practical.
02Why is my double-pane window cloudy between the panes?
Moisture trapped inside a sealed glass unit commonly points to a failed edge seal. Wiping either surface cannot remove it. Replacement of the sealed unit may be possible without changing a sound frame.
03Does condensation mean the glass has failed?
Not necessarily. Moisture on a room-side surface can result from humidity and temperature. Condensation inside the sealed gap is a different symptom. Tell us whether you can wipe the moisture away and which surface it is on.
04Can just one pane of a double-pane unit be replaced?
A sealed insulated glass unit is normally replaced as an assembly to restore its sealed gap. That does not automatically mean replacing the entire window frame. The unit specification and surrounding frame need checking.
05Will replacement glass match my existing windows?
Matching involves more than size: tint, thickness, coatings, spacers, and any internal grille may matter. Tell us which nearby panes need to match. Exact availability and any visible differences should be discussed before ordering.
06Can I order replacement glass using my own measurements?
Rough dimensions can help describe a job, but an order needs the actual glazing dimensions, thickness, and specification. Let Glassma confirm what needs measuring before custom glass is ordered; a visible opening is not always the glass size.
